Clematis love to have there head in the sun & roots in the shade covering the soil with an ols slab or gravel will help it needs something to grow up like a shrub or trellis finally plant it 3 inches or so deeper than the soil level as clematis are prone to wilt where everything above ground just dies but if you've planted it deeper it will grow back Lupins I love them but so do the snails & slugs overnight they can destroy all the foiliage one solution is grind up a garlic corm & let it seep in water a spray of the liquid will repel the nasty little creatures, love watching your channel especially when Zara is there & you two interact as you do

You would have to get a hanging basket fuchsia a trailing one. There fantastic in hanging baskets. There's different types you don't want to end up with a fuchsia bush in a hanging basket. 😅. Hostas do better in a damp shad. The garden is fantastic. You's have done a great job.

As far as the Lupins go they contain alkaloids that can be toxic for humans and dogs which can cause poisoning. We got rid of ours just to be safe. Have a great week ahead guys. ❤

Yes Luke, cut the Salvia right back to the leaves. The flowers you see havent "grown back" ... they will die off too. Your herb pots look good! Fushias need shade, the leaves are looking yellow/light green....it's not happy in too much sun. x Nell.

Luke the Parasol looks very nice for your garden and will give you a bit of shade to sit in. I think you need to get yourself a little Hoe or hand fork and turn the mud over so the water can get in as your soil is still looking rather hard and dry to make anything grow. Do you have an Outside tap Installed on the wall to put a garden hose on ? Otherwise if not, you should order one of them stretchy hoe’s of Amazon that stretches while you are using it and de-streches when you are not. Your garden needs also a good drench with it in the early evening and not in the day. You should also by a sprinkler to sit on the grass as well. X

Luke if yours is a variagated ivy you need to put in full sun otherwise it'll loose it's variaged leaves and just be a single green one made that mistake myself 😂😂😂😂

I winced a bit at the clematis in a carrier bag with it's roots exposed in the sun. Personally l would have given it a good soak in a bucket of water before planting. Clematis is one of a few plants that can be planted deeper than it grows in the pot as they can suffer from clematis wilt. They like their roots in the shade and their heads in the sun. ☺️

The garden is looking lovely and to be honest you can never stop learning when it comes to gardening! 😃One way to help keep the watered plants hydrated when it is hot is to lay sheets of old newspaper (maybe 6 sheets thick) or flattened cardboard boxes and place wood chips on top. That assists in holding in the water for longer in the heat, keeps the roots cool in the hot weather and also acts as a weed barrier.

I saw Zara watering the plants Luke never water the whole plant including the leaves only water at the base as watering the leaves in warm weather will encourage plant diseases.

Yes Luke, it's a good idea to deadhead your Salvia to keep it flowering and encourage new growth. Pretty Clematis!...maybe add a trellis to help it grow up the fence

Oh yummy gift of food and tea and there was some of my favourite jam there. Here in Australia we cant get Clotted Cream or those flavours of Jam and i use to look forward to those treats each time i visited England. Lovely looking garden too.

Watering is so important plants in a pot must be watered daily and plenty of it . New plants in the ground also need plenty of water initially and as they get established not quite as much. A quick spray is not enough , and try and avoid wetting the leaves when it’s hot so they don’t burn . The garden is looking really good x

Hi Luke hope you are well. Your garden is looking like a little paradise, yours & Zaras hard work is certainly paying off. Your lawn will bounce back trust me........we had new patio layed & guys just dumped everything on ours including cement mixer & digger trucks.....I couldav cried when they'd gone but just sprinkled on some new seed on mud patches & it came back really good 👍🏻. Love patio area with all your pots.....get Zara to show you outside shower curtain for possible coverup for wall behind your bbq.....might be idea until its fixed 🤔. Your garden is looking amazing ! A friend of ours used to grow clematis professionally and he used to say they like 'their heads in the sun and their feet in the cool' Definitely keep up with the watering, why not get a sprinkler for the grass (and Maggie)❤

The second allium is actually thrift (they do look very similar). With the salvias, the new stalks are side shoots so cut the old ones down to where they join the fresh growth. With the clematis, if you tack it to the fence it won't have room to grow so instead tack some string to the fence up to the top and then tie the clematis to the string. You must be so proud of how well the garden is coming together.

Cut the spent salvia flower stalks off. If you don't, the plant will focus its energy on making seeds. You can cut the plant quite low, to keep the plant looking mounded and tidy. This also forces the plant to send out a new flush of flowers.

I'm sorry to keep posting. Watering: water the base of the plants, not the leaves, and i usually count to 15 for every plant. They need to be drenched, you see, but at the base. Sorry!

Yes, cut off the spent flower stems on the salvias, deadheading encourages plants to flower again. If you notice, there will be seed heads forming after flowering, this is how most plants reproduce, by cutting off the flowers (deadheading) it will encourage the plant to produce more flowers to start the process again. Deadhead the lupins as well.

All new plants need lots of watering that's like a watering can full for each plant every couple of days the roots are searching for water and your soil looks dry and windy days dry out not only the soil but the leaves too. Water, water, water and a fortnightly feed. Some great plants you have. The garden looks lovely.

You can get salvias that bloom later in the year too. Trim it back! It'll go to seed which takes the energy otherwise, like you said. Trim 'em! Ps i think hostas die back, they flower in feb, so dont worry if the leaves go eventually.

Thats a french lavender, they bloom early, see if you can also get an english one, deep bluey purple blooms which are fat and luscious. They bloom all summer. Both lavenders are a treat. Lavendar pana cotta anyone?

Ooo, turn the olive so it grows evenly! Just a little quarter turn every now and then, the little olive behind you. My tip of the week.

Hope don’t mind, a tip for the Clematis, put some rocks / pebbles around the top where the roots are, they like their roots kept cool. 😎 The garden is so lovely❣️
